Groups, Classes & Workshops
Practitioners at People House offer a wide variety of groups and classes. The descriptions provided below can help you decide which best fits your needs.
Why Groups, Classes & Workshops?
In the wired world of the twenty-first century the Internet allows us to connect with people and knowledge from around the globe. Digital encyclopedias, chat rooms, multimedia, even a virtual office at home, are all there at the click of a mouse. But is clicking really connecting? And what must "click" before we connect to ourselves?
At People House, our experience tells us that access to global information is no substitute for a deep connection to our own inner spirit. As human beings, that's really what we're looking for. Even in the most sophisticated lifestyles, the man or woman at peace is the one with self-knowledge.
In a group setting we find that we're not alone in our search. As we hear others tell their stories, we see how they deal with struggles not unlike our own. In telling our personal stories, we see the gift of our uniqueness reflected back to us in the loving faces of the group members. We feel compassion for others and for ourselves. We learn new behaviors and gain the courage to try them out in a supportive environment. We feel safe to shine a light on dark places in our life experiences. In the process, we connect to others and to ourselves.
Trust Your Intuition
Learn how your intuition (your inner voice/gut feelings) can help you make the right decisions, ultimately steering you to a dream-filled life! Everyone has an inner voice or feelings that can and will guide his or her life. Some people hear their inner wisdom others feel or see. Most people ignore their intuition or were programmed not to pay attention to it. This class will teach you how to hear, see or feel intuition, plus trust and use it! Using Nancy Harris' Quick and Easy Emotional Release™ Energy Psychology Technique, you will learn now to use the wisdom of your body to quickly release emotional blocks and old tapes at the sub-conscious and cellular levels. QEER™ is designed to provide safe, dependable and rapid personal growth and healing. As your stress, anxieties and fears lift, you will learn how to access your "right brain and gut feeling", the home of your intuition. Nancy will guide you in a process of learning how to listen to and trust your intuition. She will also show you how to tap into your inner wisdom and make decisions that can lead to true emotional wellness, love, happiness and dreams fulfilled!

Enneagram Drop In Class
The Enneagram is considered a Spiritual Psychology. The Enneagram is different than most personality typing systems in that it not only tells you about the pitfalls of your personality type, but it also gives you the tools necessary for moving beyond these pitfalls. In addition to talking about the psychological aspect of you, the Enneagram also provides the methods to move out of our personality beliefs and transform into the person you "truly" are – what is often called our essence. Studying the Enneagram allows you to catch yourself in "the act" of your personality pattern and begin to change your habitual routines. This is the pathway to transformation and well-being. As a drop in class, you will be exposed to various elements of the Enneagram in each of the sessions. One session does not necessarily depend on the others. However, knowing your type would be helpful. Benefits Of Studying The Enneagram: · Acknowledges the diversity and uniqueness within each of us · Gives us tools to create change in ourselves · Encourages compassion for self and others · Creates new avenues for effective communication · Explains our differences and helps us understand ourselves and others · Restores hope · Creates peace of mind and joy in our lives

Relational Life Community Group
One of the things we believe in the Relational Life Institute, based on the work of Terry Real, is that our society and our pressures are not conducive to or supportive of our relationships. As a result, we attend a workshop and have great hopes of becoming different and using our new skills. However, what generally happens is we forget what we need to do to keep our 24/7 practice going and fall back into our default, old habits. This group is designed to explore and implement the effective tools found in Terry's groundbreaking books: The New Rules of Marriage, How Can I Get Through to You and I Don't Want to Talk About It. Whether you have asked for some kind of ongoing support to remind you of the skills or to have a place to ask questions; or, if you are not familiar with this model but are looking for a positive support for your couple, come and join us.

Deeper into the Enneagram
The Enneagram is a profound & elegant system of spiritual psychology and which shines the light of awareness on personality, revealing the habitual mental and emotional patterns that limit the development of our human potential. But it is so much more than a mere "typology"; it contains a path of self-transformation that is both gentle and powerful. This 4 week closed group is for those who wish to use the Enneagram as a tool of transformation. Basic (not extensive) knowledge is required to benefit. Topics include: · Instinctual Subtypes. This powerful energy underlying your personality can blindly run your life in spite of what your head and heart say! Learn to respect and work with this natural force so it can become a positive asset in creating a more satisfying life. · Metaphysical Illusion: Each of the Enneagram types entails a particular incorrect assumption about what will bring fulfillment; identifying this cognitive error enables us to penetrate our personality and reach our essence. · The Types in Change: Awareness to Action. Our personality or ego resists change but the Enneagram growth path can enlighten your journey. If you want truly to understand something, try to change it. — Kurt Lewin, 1890-1947. · The Types in Love: Illustrates the specific issues, expectations and problems of loving, plus how each type experiences and expresses love.

Eating Solutions
Many people have eating issues. We overeat or undereat. We spend our days obsessing about weight and body image or binge in privacy. Some of us are overweight and have physical problems like diabetes. Our culture tells us that our bodies never look good enough. 95% of diets fail and usually lead to more weight gain. We feel out of control and ashamed that we can't stop using food to comfort ourselves or deal with emotions like sadness or anger. This leads to low self esteem and depression. We don't feel good about ourselves. The Eating Solutions program offers strategies to allow you to free yourself from these painful behaviors. It is not about willpower and it is not about deprivation! This two hour presentation will give you options; you choose which parts of the program fit for you. Begin now by investing 2 hours to learn about yourself and your eating issues.

Facilitator Training Course
When was the last time someone listened when you were sharing? I mean really listened, without interrupting, without telling you what to do, without giving their opinion? When was the last time you listened, without judgment, without silent criticism going on in your head, without wanting to share your own story? Listening is one part of a conversation – the most important part – especially for couples, parents and children, in the board room, or in the office or classroom. In FT you learn to let go of preconceived notions, and to access your inner wisdom and intuition. You learn skills to facilitate individuals as well as groups. Facilitation is not therapy, it is a valuable bag of tips and tools that promote effective listening skills. The course is experiential and instructional. You graduate with a Certificate of Completion, plus FT alumni are invited to participate in groups and retreats throughout the year. Please visit www.facilitator-training.com for registration info..
