Professional Practitioners at People House
Whose Responsibility Is It?
People House takes great care in selecting the professionals offering services in the healing arts here at People House. We want to make it clear that everyone offering services at People House is an independent contractor and/or business and therefore is to be held solely and totally responsible to all who make use of their services. This includes all ministers, professionals, and anyone using People House space for any and all activities. People House, while feeling secure in having these educators and healers available to you, is not to be held responsible for problems that may result in the carrying out of their services to you. Additionally, since each person is considered a distinct and independent "business," no practitioner at People House is to be held responsible for problems that may result with another practitioner or for any problems that may result in relationship to People House. Ultimately, of course, we feel that it is YOU who are responsible for the choices you make of who and what method you may choose for your education and healing process. We trust your inner wisdom to lead you in the right direction.
Our practitioners conduct their practice of healing, education and/or growth according to the ethics and guidelines of their particular field. In addition, they maintain a belief in the wisdom of the individual that is in harmony with the basic People House philosophy. Please see each description for details and phone numbers. All practitioners maintain their own schedules. Contact them directly for information about groups, workshops or personal appointments.

I teach the Facilitator Training Course at People House with co-leader Jeanne Robertson, and offer the FT Alumni Process Group to FT graduates. Susan Bickel, MA
Have you ever wondered why you keep repeating the same old self-defeating patterns, sabotaging yourself in the process? These patterns are locked in our sub-conscious minds, and we have very little knowledge or control over them. Using some of the latest and most effective therapeutic methods, you can experience "It is never too late to have a happy childhood" (Wayne Dyer). Using EFT's Matrix Reimprinting and Theta Healing, the "software" of your subconscious mind can actually be reprogrammed so that your present life experience is dramatically changed for the better. My specialties are trauma (big and small, the real cause of most of our issues), couples therapy, anxiety, ADD, depression, and self-esteem issues. 1/2 hour free introductory consultation in person or by phone.

Art therapy uses the creative process (drawing, painting, building, taking apart, movement, sound) to enhance our understanding of our selves and sense of well-being. Meg Carlson works with Adults and Older Adults individually and through groups to offer support around life transitions, grief & loss, anxiety, depression, and many other experiences presented to us in life.

Change is always possible if given the right support. I find that therapy should be spiritually fulfilling, as well as emotionally grounding and practical. So often by healing past traumas and losses, we are freed of current struggles. It is important to explore the past, yet also remain firmly rooted in the present. I use a variety of creative techniques to develop a therapy that is specific to you and your needs and addresses the past, keeps us present and allows creative imagining of the future. Therapy is an amazing journey of self-discovery and I am honored to do this work! Mark T. Palmer PhD
I believe each of us has a unique path toward happiness and that we have the ability to find that path. By reflecting who we are psychologically, relationally, and spiritually, therapy helps us to find our path forward. My practice specializes in helping men who want to better communicate their feelings and participate positively in work and relationships. I am also developing a practice to support people who care for chronically ill and older relatives. My Jungian orientation means I integrate various techniques (e.g., EMDR, CBT, dream work, meditation), but always centers on a person and solutions that fit them. This way, results are more likely to last and people leave therapy better able to deal with future problems and stay on their path. Sliding scale.

Catherine Peters
Are you ready to get unstuck? Do you want to take it to the next level? Are you tired of fear preventing you from making the changes you want in your life? I help people just like you take their lives from ordinary to extraordinary. We all have the ability to lead extraordinary lives, but many of us don't know how to access our own power. So often, our thoughts and beliefs about our lives and our abilities stand in the way, or even worse, are diametrically opposed to where we want to go. Often times, these beliefs are not even conscious, but act as enormous unseen forces that keep us stuck so that we constantly feel like we are taking one step forward and two steps back. I use a method called Psych-K facilitation to help get my clients unstuck, so that they are propelled forward into lives of success and joy.

Rev.
Stephen "Clyde" Davis
Ordained this year, I am the newest People House Minister and am expanding my practice as a spiritual facilitator. I participated in Facilitator Training for 6 years, and was a co-leader with Carole Adams. I have facilitated the Friday Night Adult Drop-in Support Group, held classes on Telling Your Story, and have been a leader in men's circles for many years. I presently serve on the Board of Directors, co-facilitate the Exploring Spirituality Group, and facilitate the Sunday morning Sacred Circle. I believe there is a spiritual component to every situation, and I support silence as a daily practice. I use "Insight Listening," my unique style of facilitation that allows tears and laughter, clarifies tough questions, explores old behaviors from new perspectives, and leads to peace and acceptance.

Susan Sylvester
I believe the mind, body and spirit work in unison and negative emotions such as depression, anger, guilt and low self esteem are some of the harmful toxins that can manifest themselves. These items can have ill effects on the body. I feel therapy is a teamwork process that stimulates the enhancement of personal strengths and empowerment to aid in reaching personal goals. I have 10 years experience working with victims during the initial stages of their crisis. I understand the impact of trauma as well as its long-term effects.
