Professional Practitioners at People House
Whose Responsibility Is It?
People House takes great care in selecting the professionals offering services in the healing arts here at People House. We want to make it clear that everyone offering services at People House is
an independent contractor and/or business and therefore is to be held solely and totally responsible to all who make use of their services. This includes all ministers, professionals, and anyone using
People House space for any and all activities. People House, while feeling secure in having these educators and healers available to you, is not to be held responsible for problems that may result
in the carrying out of their services to you. Additionally, since each person is considered a distinct and independent "business," no practitioner at People House is to be held responsible for problems
that may result with another practitioner or for any problems that may result in relationship to People House. Ultimately, of course, we feel that it is YOU who are responsible for the choices you
make of who and what method you may choose for your education and healing process. We trust your inner wisdom to lead you in the right direction.
Our practitioners conduct their practice of healing, education and/or growth according to the ethics and guidelines of their particular field. In addition, they maintain a belief in the wisdom of
the individual that is in harmony with the basic People House philosophy. Please see each description for details and phone numbers. All practitioners maintain their own schedules. Contact them directly
for information about groups, workshops or personal appointments.

Herbal Therapy Interns at People House
Are you intrigued by the benefits of herbs but haven't any idea where to start? In today's world of over-prescribing of prescription drugs, many are looking for alternative remedies for everything from the common cold to headaches to ADD management to cancer treatment to just better overall health. Herbal remedies can be the first line of defense against colds, flues, and other infectious diseases. Often times they are a gentle, safer alternative to the debilitating side effects of potent prescription drugs. With shelves and shelves of herbal remedies made by hundreds of different companies from which to choose, knowing which herb, how much and how often can be overwhelming.
Sound like you? Well, look no further. Beginning in Sept., People House has have several Herbal Therapy interns who can help. The interns will be supervised by Lorene Wapotich, a Certified Medical Herbalist with over 17 years experience.
Though our interns cannot diagnose, treat or prescribe for a specific condition, an evaluation with one of them can be a step toward integrating herbs into your life.
A special bonus includes a 15% discount on herbal products available to clients of this program from Highlands Natural Apothecary.
All Herbal Therapy Interns maintain their own schedules; please contact them directly for an appointment or more information.
Holistic Nutrition Therapy Interns at People House
It is sometimes hard to know which foods actually contribute to your health. Are supplements right for you? Are the supplements you’re taking actually doing any good? Are you eating enough of the right fats? What is the difference between good carbohydrates and bad carbohydrates?
Let us help take the guesswork out of what it might mean to truly eat right for you, your lifestyle and your health.
People House is sponsoring a new Holistic Nutrition Therapy Intern Program staffed by Master Nutrition Therapy candidates from the Nutrition Therapy Institute, supervised by Naturopathic Doctor, Sarah Cook.
Though our interns cannot diagnose, treat or prescribe for a specific condition, an evaluation with one of them can be a step toward integrating holistic nutrition into your life.

Carole Adams
Carole works with individuals, couples and groups to integrate mental, physical, emotional and spiritual characteristics. She loves teaching the Facilitator Training courses, has over 10 years'
experience as a facilitator and trainer, and is a community minister and graduate of Hakomi body-centered psychotherapy. As a facilitator, Carole is essentially a "listener." She creates a safe container
or arena for you to do your sensitive and delicate personal work, and becomes a sacred witness and observer of your process, whether verbal or non-verbal. She interacts with you in non-invasive ways,
without bias or prejudice, and most often without giving advice or opinion. Any clarity or understanding that may emerge in your process comes from you accessing your inner wisdom and essence or
core being. Her style encourages you to be in the present moment, yet honors your story and background. She never forces or persuades you to go beyond your personal boundary of safety and well-being.

Transpersonal Psychotherapist. No matter the circumstance, I believe that healing is always possible!! Trauma and emotion are stored in the body. In order for healing to occur, we must work

Jodi Hardesty, MA
A journey within can be both frightening and enlightening. This journey can give the answers that we so often look for outside of ourselves. Each question is different and each experience inward is unique. Being alone on this journey can make it more challenging and overwhelming then it needs to be. As a counselor who continually makes my own journey within I invite you to allow me to share with you this experience. Allow yourself to have a mirror, a listener, a supporter, and a guide to help you through the process of self discovery. The journey can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Adults, couples, children and families are welcome. Play therapy is also utilized.

Rev. Lori Ohlson, MA, LPC
Lori is a psychotherapist and non-sectarian minister with 26 years of experience in transformational psychology and spiritual development. Whatever your issues, Lori is committed to providing a
safe place to open your heart. She believes strongly in the paradox: no one can do it for you and you can't do it alone. All people encounter struggles with life. The human journey is full of problems
and disappointments, and when we are out of balance, stuck in faulty core beliefs or when we lack the tools and education to flourish, it can seem hopeless to live a fulfilling, happy life. But given
supportive conditions, one of which is the assistance of a helping professional, we can be" self-correcting", allowing the wisdom within ourselves to emerge. Her specialties include: addictions,
self-esteem, relationships, group work, Enneagram, and spiritual counseling.
Lori also serves PH as Executive Director and Director of the Affordable Counseling Program.
