Professional Practitioners at People House
Whose Responsibility Is It?
People House takes great care in selecting the professionals offering services in the healing arts here at People House. We want to make it clear that everyone offering services at People House is an independent contractor and/or business and therefore is to be held solely and totally responsible to all who make use of their services. This includes all ministers, professionals, and anyone using People House space for any and all activities. People House, while feeling secure in having these educators and healers available to you, is not to be held responsible for problems that may result in the carrying out of their services to you. Additionally, since each person is considered a distinct and independent "business," no practitioner at People House is to be held responsible for problems that may result with another practitioner or for any problems that may result in relationship to People House. Ultimately, of course, we feel that it is YOU who are responsible for the choices you make of who and what method you may choose for your education and healing process. We trust your inner wisdom to lead you in the right direction.
Our practitioners conduct their practice of healing, education and/or growth according to the ethics and guidelines of their particular field. In addition, they maintain a belief in the wisdom of the individual that is in harmony with the basic People House philosophy. Please see each description for details and phone numbers. All practitioners maintain their own schedules. Contact them directly for information about groups, workshops or personal appointments.

Counseling is a dynamic, creative response to living. We seek relatedness with another person as a response to pain and loss or the longing for joy. Whether you're nursing a faint voice of hope for change or anger for something different, we can explore together in an experimental way. Bring your experience, trauma, limitations, stories and dreams and we will sort them together and experience new possibilities.
Sometimes we all need what I call a mental health ‘tune-up,' where we address life's difficult issues that cause emotional pain. Psychotherapy based in mindfulness can help heal painful trauma, improve personal well-being, or resolve the gridlock in your relationship(s). In individual therapy, I specialize in issues of personal identity, coming out LGBTQ, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, disabilities, and philosophical/spiritual crises. In relationships therapy, I focus on issues of communication, intimacy, codependency, infidelity, finances, parenting, and alternative lifestyles (polyamory, BDSM, swinging). Call for a free phone consultation.

Emotional distress, negative thought patterns, addictive behaviors, and other conditions that cause you suffering determine what you believe about who you are. However, as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist, I believe those conditions cover up – rather than define – who you truly are. My knowledge and experience as a Hakomi student, YogaTeacher, Addiction Counselor, Body-Mind Integration Specialist, and M.A.Transpersonal Counseling Psychology candidate at Naropa University helps us create optimal conditions to safely, mindfully and deeply explore your innate capacity for self-healing and radical transformation.

I believe humans, as exceptional beings, deserve a life of well-being. However, we are challenged by many life stressors. Authentic psychotherapy provides the chance for both the client and the therapist to grow together. Our growth facilitates endurance; unfolding our well-being from within. We are wounded, yet we have the inner capacity to heal. Healing is a process that needs empathic support; modeling a healthy environment. My passion as an intern in counseling is to offer this support and this environment. I am enthused to travel this journey of healing and growth with my clients.

There are no "coincidences" in life. If you are reading this now, healing is your heart prayer. My therapeutic goal is to help you identify the beliefs which limit you from experiencing the fullness of your life. We will take a journey together to discover what is working in your life and what isn't. We will also explore any limiting beliefs you may be holding. You will learn that the stories we sometimes believe don't always serve our higher purpose. A little bit of willingness is all that is needed as you begin walking the path toward living your truth.

I am passionate about assisting couples, families, and children/adolescents find healing and happiness through a context of safe, secure relationships. If you are struggling, I can compassionately walk with you and your family on a journey to author a preferred life story, identify personal and relational strengths, change ineffective emotional patterns, and develop new strategies for living a meaningful, satisfying life. After a decade of working with young children and their families as an educator, I am currently completing my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy at Regis, and would welcome the opportunity to work with you and your family.

"Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen" – Brene Brown. When we acknowledge our true feelings, including the painful ones, we begin to cultivate the feelings of self-acceptance and worthiness that are necessary to live authentic and "wholehearted" lives. I offer a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for you to engage in this process – exploring your thoughts and feelings, deepening self-awareness, and developing strategies for reaching your goals. I take a holistic approach to wellness, incorporating EMDR and mindfulness into our sessions when appropriate. I am completing my MA in Counseling at Regis University.
